Swollen glands can be extremely painful and occur for any number of reasons
Mild swelling that is uncommon can be relieved by reflexology over the gland areas on the feet and by also doing the Reflexology Technique for Headaches
When doing the techniques below, do all steps on the right foot, then do all steps on the left foot
Water is amazing because it transports waste through your blood system
If you're feeling blocked up in the head water will make headache reflexology techniques work 100x better
1a have a glass of water.
Rotate the Toes
Begin with big toe, continue toe by toe and finish with the smallest end toe
2a. hold toe firmly at the base, gently move in circular motions - rotating and stretching the base joint that attaches toe to foot
2b. hold toe just above the second joint and again move the joint in a large circular motion
2c. rotate the very top joint on the toe (big toe only has two joints)
This foot reflexology step is great for relieving swollen glands, jaw aches and headaches as it relates to all of the bones in the skull, jaw... every bone in the head!
When learning how to do reflexology remember the bones protecting our brain are fused together but are also separate bones, rotating the toes sends extra blood flow to their joints including the glands
3a. use the Thumb Walking Technique (click here for page teaching thumb walking, the only technique to use in reflexology for swollen glands) over the toes
Begin with big toe on the right foot,
continuing with toe next to it and so on until all toes are done (smallest toe last)
3b. gently thumb walk the Thyroid and Pituitary gland areas -
gently upwards across the area, diagonally and downwards over the whole area
Repeat and do this for 1 minute
See reflexology diagram below
Have something sweet
4a. it is recommended to have something sweet, as natural as possible eg table spoon of honey, boiled lolly, throat soother etc
Natural sugar will help relax the throat and vocal chords
Reflexology does 3 amazing things; 1. it is relaxing, 2. slightly increases blood circulation, and 3. promotes balance within the body.
